TESTIMONIALS
“I was recommended The Hurt Box by a friend and was keen to join and see if I could increase my fitness and build my confidence with some race tips and tricks. My goal was to be competitive in C grade (I’d previously participated in a few road races and been dropped at the start line). Within 6 months I was on the podium in B grade! Aside from seeing a significant shift in my fitness through a tailored program and ‘trusting in the process’, I’d made some incredible new friends. Steggles has a rare ability to create a community where we all feel each other’s highs and lows, but most of all have fun and look after one another! THB is far more than just a cycling club!”

“The Hurt Box has been a great organisation for me, I started cycling and wanted to start racing but had no idea how to get started until I heard about David Sturt and THB. Working with Steggles (David Sturt) has been really beneficial for me, he has taught me how to race and train, thus allowing me to fulfill my potential and be the best racer I can be. The community rides are a wonderful way to get in to the Melbourne cycling world and I do miss riding with them, however having David as a coach works just as well overseas as when you are in Melbourne. THB is a 10/10 for me!”

“One word defines training as a female within The Hurt Box: Equitable. In my program, talking with coach, riding with the group, maybe even coffee. Finish line excluded.”

“I originally joined The Hurt Box because I saw my wife Deb really improving off the back of her THB training program. I'm a competitive buggar and was smashing myself 4 or 5 times a week, and at 60yo I felt I needed a more sensible and planned approach. But what I learnt and gained was more than just strength and stamina. I learnt about racing tactics, positioning, how to save energy, the wind, and more. I also highly value that safety is paramount given that Deb, our daughter Jess and I are all in the program. And finally, and probably most importantly, I love the friendships and camaraderie across a broad spectrum of people.”
